Baseball 2020!

Since all the baseball activities were suspended in March, outdoor baseball practices with Seals (Travel Team) resumed in the summer and a couple of local Tournaments took a place in the Fall for Isaac.  Luke also joined the Seals, but they do not have enough players in his age group for tournaments.  We are thankful to the Seals to provide these opportunities for boys and hopefully they get to play some more tournaments in 2021 since the Little League does not seem to open their season.

Various activities during COVID Restrictions

Since COVID-19 caused so much restrictions on extra curricular activities, we had to be creative to be physically active!  Initially boys and Dad started hiking in the Leona trail in Redwood Heights area, less than 20 minutes walking distance from our house.  Then, we started riding a bike to the Oakland Hills.  Isaac had no problems climbing up the 3 miles hill and Luke also kept up climbing the hill with his little bike!  Luke is the littlest biker, by far, going up the Hill and got a lot of attention from every biker who passed him!  They have been doing this ride throughout the summer and they are in good shape, not too fat or too skinny. 

COVD-19 Pandemic shattered boys' sports activites.

This Spring would be a very exciting baseball season for Isaac and Luke, if this COVID-19 Pandemic did not take a place.  Daddy decided to coach Luke's AA team in NOLL/SOLL (North Oakland Little League/South Oakland Little League) with Coach, Jeff Lewis.  Luke is still 7 year-old and would be one of the youngest players in the team, but was excited playing in the competitive level.  Isaac played in AA only 2 years ago when he was 4th grade.  Luke had one scrimmage in the weekend before the season was suspended.

Isaac was going to be on 3 baseball teams this spring, Montera Middle school Baseball team, NOLL/SOLL (Intermediate level), and Travel Team (San Francisco Seals).  Isaac made the tryout for the middle school baseball team and he is one of the three 6th graders in the team (Total 15 ish players).  The season was just about open on the Wednesday of 3/11.  He has been practicing every Friday with the team, mainly 8th graders, since January.  Montera MS traditionally has a competitive baseball team and we were really looking forwards to seeing their games in this season.

Issac was also drafted by a team in the Intermediate (one level above Majors level) team in NOLL/SOLL.  He did very well last season in the Majors level and the coaches liked him in the tryout this year.  The coaches really liked his batting and abilities to be a catcher and pitcher.  The team had a couple of 12U All Stars from last year (Isaac was a member of 11U All Stars) and looked really competitive.   Their first game was just about open in March 7th.  

Isaac also continues playing with San Francisco Seals (Travel Team).  They had had 2 tournaments (12U Seals) and 1 scrimmage (with 14 U Seals) before this happened, but then the season was paused as soon as NBA suspended their season.
